Rib Cage

I built these walls so high you fail to see the light inside.

Out of darkness I have stumbled, what a mess oh how I've fumbled.

Hanging from my rope you climb,

I push you back to buy some time.

Wearing my emotions like the skin that's plastered over my bones,

Can't you see I'm foolishly losing at this battle raging in me?

Take this beat straight from my rib cage

This love won't ever live past this page

I don't need a broken promise but faith in it is one thing I'll miss

Stand up straight, don't hesitate,

I'll rest my eyes and lie and wait.

Cause when I dream I'm wide awake so I can control the bend before I break.
